Local Mace Retailers win at Asian Trader Awards
Mace is pleased to announce that two of its retail outlets picked up prestigious awards at the 21st Asian Trader Awards which distinguishes the best retailing practice within the sector. The Awards were held on Tuesday 3rd November, in London, bringing together all strands of the FMCG profession, from independent retailers to CEOs of leading manufacturers and wholesalers.
Mr. Nizam Patel, of Darnall Service Station, was awarded the ‘Asian Trader Food to Go Retailer of the Year 2009’ Award. This award not only recognized Mr. Patel’s grasp of the importance of both hot and cold food-to-go offerings but also acknowledged the first class retail environment offered in this spacious forecourt store.
Acknowledging a man who combines incredible business acumen with a profound sense of social duty, the ‘Asian Trader Spirit of the Community Award 2009’, was awarded to Mr. Abdul Majid, of Hounslow Service Station. This reward reflected Mr. Majid’s involvement with his local community, as well as recognizing the positive effects an efficient and profitable store can have on such an area.
Commenting on the awards Michaela Honeywood of Mace said:
“These awards identify and reward the hard work and dedication of these independent retailers at the highest level and we are delighted that they have been recognized for their retail excellence.”
