Get an Alcohol Licence
Don’t have an Alcohol Licence?
Alcohol (Beers, Wines and Spirits) is the third biggest category in convenience store, contributing to 12.8% turnover (IGD, 2014). Therefore, based on the average turnover in the convenience sector, you could make between £45,000 and £115,000 in a Convenience store and around £60,000 in a Forecourt per annum by adding Alcohol in your range (based on WRBM/Nielson/IGD).
If you are looking to stock alchohol and increase your turnover, you will need an alcohol licence - and we at Palmer and Harvey are offering a great opportunity to retailers who would like to investigate obtaining one.
We can help you apply for your licence with our Licensing Scheme and we can provide you with free stock to help offset the costs (terms and conditions apply)!

The penalties for not having a licence or failure to comply with the conditions are severe: a maximum fine of £20,000 and/or six months imprisonment.
It is a criminal offence for any person to sell or supply alcohol to a person under the age of 18 and there are no exceptions to this. Those who commit this offence could be fined up to £5000. The holder of the licence may also have their licence reviewed which could result in alcohol sales being suspended for three months or worse – permanently!
