With help from a number of their existing partners, including Dawson Rentals, DFDS, Paneltex and BP Rolls, Palmer and Harvey will transport rider’s bikes to Switzerland and move equipment and baggage during the ride.

The event, taking place in Switzerland in June, involves 65 cyclists riding 400km over four days and includes some of the Tour de France climbs from this year’s race. The ride is now in its 13th year and has raised over £1 million for Action Medical Research.

A 1,700 mile round trip will see Palmer and Harvey transporting the riders’ bikes and equipment from the UK to Switzerland, moving bikes, baggage and equipment from stage to stage during the race and then bringing the bikes back to the UK afterwards.

The ride, organised by Pie Events, starts in Yverdon les Bains and finishes in Gstaad, Switzerland and follows parts of the Tour de France and the Swiss Tour de Romandie.

Mark Leonard Group Operations Director at Palmer and Harvey said: “We are delighted to be able to provide a transport solution for this fantastic event. The logistics support we are providing will ensure even more money will go towards vital research for Action Medical Research.”

Tina Makin, MD of Pie Events said: “Palmer and Harvey’s support of the Action Medical Research Tour de Suisse ride is invaluable. It allows the cyclists who are working really hard at raising funds for the charity, to know their bikes are in safe hands all the way to Switzerland and back.

“Palmer and Harvey will also be supporting the ride on a daily basis while on the Tour. This allows the charity to keep the costs down and make sure as much money as possible goes to the valuable research work they perform.”
